Book Review

I LoVe, LoVe, LoVe reading!! Since I drive an hour to and from Daytona Beach everyday, I tend to listen to a lot of audio books. As great as they are, there's just nothing like a good ol' fashioned book.

While on the cruise, I got to read a book that I stole my mom's dresser (literally!). It was called  I, Saul.

"From multi-million copy best-selling novelist Jerry Jenkins comes a compelling international thriller that conveys you from present-day Texas to a dank Roman dungeon in A.D. 67, then down the dusty roads of ancient Israel, Asia, and back to Rome.

A young seminary professor, Augustine Knox, is drawn into a deadly race to save priceless parchments from antiquities thieves and discovers a two- thousand-year old connection with another who faced death for the sake of the truth. I, Saul consists of two riveting adventures in one, transporting you between the stories of Augustine Knox and Saul of Tarsus.

Filled with political intrigue, romance, and rich historical detail, I, Saul is a thrilling tale of loyal friendships tested by life-or-death quests, set two millennia apart, told by a master storyteller."

I realllllly enjoyed this book I stayed up late into the night to make sure that I finished it on my 3 day cruise -- and I did! It was captivating from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. Lucky for me, my mom is as much as a reader as I am, so she didn't mind just lounging and reading!

The author, Jerry Jenkins, is the same person who wrote the Left Behind series. I had never actually read anything of his, but I've jumped right on his bandwagon! He does a great job of keeping you interested in the story.

The story ended in a cliffhanger of sorts. The actual plot of the I, Saul had a good resolution, but he set it up beautifully for the next book, I, Paul, which, sadly, doesn't have a release date yet!!

Overall though, I would definitely recommend reading this book. It's a great book for girls and guys  :)
